Mobile Safety Overview

Many of us rely on smart devices to manage our calendars, our banking, read the news, and they’re a great way to keep in touch with friends and family.

While mobile phones and devices have made life incredibly convenient, we also entrust sensitive and private personal information to them. To keep personal information safe, we need to be smart about how we use mobile devices. Here are some things you can do to keep yourself and your information safe:

  • Always use a strong lock-screen password
  • Keep your software and apps up to date
  • Install a security app and turn on encryption
  • Don’t transmit personal information over public Wi-Fi networks
  • Set up device finder and remote wipe in case your device is lost or stolen
  • Think twice about where you share your mobile phone number
  • Check your application permissions to ensure that apps are only using information they need
