IDX’s CEO and President Tom Kelly Addresses Cybersecurity and the War in Ukraine During an Episode of the Price of Business Radio Show

As featured on the Price of Business Show with Kevin Price

As more reports circulate of cyber-attacks on Ukraine by Russian actors, IDX’s Tom Kelly sat down with host, Kevin Price on the Price of Business radio show to discuss how the growing threat of Russian cyber-warfare will impact Americans.

The conflict in Ukraine shows that Russia is willing and capable of targeting, not just military installations, but key infrastructure and even businesses. But as Tom points out, Russia’s cyber warfare campaign isn’t unique to Russia; cyber-warfare like this will be a major and commonplace part of what warfare will look like in today’s era.

That means individuals and businesses leaders should start taking extra precautions today. Bad actors, including Russian state actors, are probing for cyber weaknesses. If you haven’t changed your company’s key account passwords recently, now is the time to do it!

But the threat of cyber warfare is bigger than anything that any one individual or company can do. “It is a national interest that we need to be investing in our cyber defense,” said Tom. “The federal government doesn’t ask you and me to put anti-missile systems on the roof of our homes.” Faced with cyber warfare campaigns like Russia’s, cyber-defense must be about more than just password hygiene; it’s about good cyber practices across the board, at the personal, enterprise, and government levels.
