IDX President and CEO, Tom Kelly, recently joined the Price of Business host, Kevin Price, to discuss threats of consumer privacy with regards to the use of smart technology and digital platforms and applications.

Every click, like and search and even a harmless question to Alexa or Siri is yet another datapoint that is collected on the user as noted by Kelly on the show. That data is then gathered and sold to other companies to market to and profit off of specific consumer interests. The Ponemon Institute’s latest study for IDX notes that 64% of consumers find it “creepy” when they receive online ads that are relevant to them, but not based on their online search behavior or publicly available information.

IDX Privacy is the first step in helping consumers take back control of their personal information. From one easy-to-use platform, consumers can choose to block trackers that collect their website browsing records, private search with our DuckDuckGo integration, and safely connect to WiFi using our secure VPN.

Until the U.S. government intervenes with legislation that protects helps to protect consumers’ privacy against the onslaught of digital threats, IDX Privacy will continue to lead the way in helping to protect the safety of all Americans.
