IDX CEO Tom Kelly Discusses the Recent Ransomware Attack on JBS Foods

Summary: Leading cybersecurity authority, Tom Kelly, joined multiple local and national news outlets to discuss the rise of cyberattacks and what businesses should all do to protect their organization, employees, and customers.

System hacked by ransomware attack

Tom Kelly, president and CEO of IDX, appeared on a number of radio shows such as KGMI-AM’s Afternoon News, KMED-AM’s Bill Meyer Show, KFBK’s Afternoon News with Kitty O’Neal, and Kevin Price’s Price of Business Show to discuss the ransomware cyberattack on JBS Foods, the world’s largest meat producer.

The JBS Foods attack is just one of many that have occurred in the U.S. this year. Coupled with SolarWinds and the Colonial Pipeline hack, which contributed to gas shortages all over the country, it’s clear that C-suite executives and government leaders need to take action and adopt a cybersecurity plan.

Every company should assume that an attack is going to happen rather than responding after it’s taken place.

Precautions should also include ensuring privacy settings are up to date and employees have basic training on cybersecurity best practices.
