ID Experts Poised to Capitalize on the Changing Landscape of Privacy and Identity Protection Services
With consumer demand for identity protection skyrocketing, the Portland Business Journal recently interviewed ID Experts’ CEO, Tom Kelly, on the changing landscape of privacy and identity protection.
In a little over a year as CEO, Kelly has sought to revamp ID Experts’ main identity protection service, MyIDCare, to become the most comprehensive identity monitoring and protection service on the market. This is especially relevant, he said, as consumers continue to adopt more connected technology, like smart speakers and digital assistants, into their homes.
“Facebook is offering a product that will watch us,” Kelly said referring to Facebook’s new Portal product. “We used to think the Orwellian threat would come from the government and the government would have eyes in our house. It turns out it’s (the) for-profit organizations.”
With its recent success selling their services directly to consumers, ID Experts is now in direct competition with companies like LifeLock, which is owned by security giant Symantec. Kelly says the company is up for it, with an expanded development team and an industry first advanced cloud native SaaS platform that enables rapid innovation to address evolving cyber threats.
ID Experts, this week, added even more features to the MyIDCare platform to provide more on-demand tools that address financial identity theft and fraud. These include the ability to see if your passwords have been compromised, track your credit score, and even lock and unlock your TransUnion® credit file.
