IDX's CEO Briefs Senate on Teleworking Security

How to Stay Safe While Working Away from the Office

Capitol building to represent a senate briefing on privacy threats from working remotely.

As Americans have been forced to work at home due to the coronavirus, security and digital privacy threats have skyrocketed as cybercriminals have capitalized on this new opportunity. In fact, new IDX research shows 86% percent of respondents are concerned about COVID-19-related email, phone or text phishing scams, and 84% are concerned about malware attacks due to the pandemic. And for good reason – with new phishing scams posing as the World Health Organization and successful COVID-19 map malware, more threats are facing Americans than ever.

Today, IDX President and CEO Tom Kelly briefed U.S. Senate staffers and other decision makers on how they can stay safe while working away from the office for the U.S. Senate’s Cybersecurity Monthly Roundup. His presentation explained the changes in the cyber threat landscape due to the coronavirus, highlighted research on consumer behaviors and attitudes around the pandemic and shared how to ensure organizational security during COVID-19.
