As we kick off 2021, taking charge of our digital privacy has never been more important, and our flagship product, IDX Privacy, is here to help – in the Portland community and beyond. With robust privacy features including ad blocking, data removal services, and an enterprise-grade VPN, we’re here to help businesses and consumers alike as they look toward a safer future for their digital information.

With the start of the new year and many people looking to improve their personal and professional online security, Tom Kelly discusses five easy tips to implement in the most recent edition of the Portland Business Journal:

  1. Take a privacy audit of your workspace: Look at your workspace and ensure devices like Alexa and Siri have privacy settings turned on and sensitive conversations are being blocked from work devices and professional settings.
  2. Secure accounts and devices: Make sure to select unique, hard-to-guess passwords that keep your devices safe and protected and enable two-step authentication set up on all accounts.
  3. Examine your social media accounts: It's important not only to secure your social media platforms but also to take a reputational audit of your online presence. Review your information and understand how your online decisions may affect others’ perception of you.
  4. Get help: There are a number of products out there that will clean up your online history, monitor your social reputation, and guard your online security.
  5. Protect your employees: It's important to offer employees identity and data privacy protection to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed, and all parties are protected. It’s also important to offer regular education on how employee behavior can jeopardize their privacy.

Our digital privacy is up to us, and now more than ever we need to take charge of and implement good digital practices for the new year. PBJ subscribers can read the original article here.
